Community of Dads – Mark LaMaster

June 2, 2017
Hosted by Rick A. Morris

Episode Description

Rick will interview Mark LaMaster, author of Friday Night Lights for Fathers and Sons, about his Community of Dads project. From Mark, “Is it just me, or when us dads get together, why do we end up talking about the weather, sports, and work? Rarely, if ever, do we talk about dad stuff. Why? Well, the more I learn about and experience with other dads, I have realized that most of us just don’t know how to start the conversation. Or, we think that if we bring up the topic of fatherhood, we might sound insecure, weak, or maybe even a bit weird. Let’s admit it, talking about fatherhood can be a bit awkward! But I have also learned through my group coaching programs that dads will talk about their insecurities, concerns, and are open to advice from other dads if they are within a trusting and supportive environment. That’s why I have created the Community of Dads, an online community for dads where dads can come to connect, grow, and share in their fatherhood journey.”
